My friend and I went metal detecting in Fernandina Beach, Fl. He found a new copper penny and a South Carolina State Quarter. We also found rusted pieces of iron that set the metal detector off like crazy!

Not unscathed

Probably take most of the winter to cut and split. Will undoubtedly share labor and wood with neighbor. Tree was centered on property line. I just tears me up that I may have to buy a bigger chain saw.

Kokanee Salmon spawning in Antlers Creek in The Okanagan Valley BC. As you can see they are a very small species of Salmon. Originally Sockeye Salmon they became landlocked after the last Ice Age, but reatin their spawning colors and behaviour and die after spawning. The fish here are about 5 years old and won't get any bigger or live much longer.

Question.. How was your West won? I'm asking for historical background. The closest info I was given in school about Canada stopped after the French and Indian war, and Britain had it as a colony. I do know that fur trapping was a way of life after that, but that was as far as I got.
I'd like to know- did your west get settled by a building of a railroad that connected east to west? Did it get settled by a massive religious movement such as our Mormons in Utah? Do you have...

Yesterday I scored my first ride in an 18 wheeler with Jeff, driver for a local company that does powder coating. The tractor is an '07 Pete with a Cat 500 hp pulling a 48' box, light load, only about 14k lbs. Delivers finished product and picks up product to be coated. Left the Sact. yard about 4:00 AM, E/B Hwy 50 to Myers, temp down to 39 deg over Luther Pass, fall color showing, georgeous sunrise as we dropped down to the Carson Valley and into Minden NV., deliver and pick up....
